Soft tissue injuries need PEACE & LOVE!

The “soft tissues” of the body includes blood vessels, fat, ligaments, nerves, muscles, tendons and fascia.

Soft tissues can be injured in many ways, and therefore rehabilitation can be complex. You may have heard of the traditional ‘RICE’ acronym guiding management of an acute injury. Although widely known, recent studies have highlighted the need for evolution and refinement of these protocols.

Introducing the NEW acronym proposed by the British Journal of Sports Medicine for early injury management,

‘P.E.A.C.E. & L.O.V.E.’

Rehab advice and protocols will vary based on individual circumstances. For the best long-term outcomes, it is important to treat the person with the injury, rather than the injury of the person.
