Lower Back Pain
Hands-on osteopathic treatment:
Our osteopaths may use a variety of methods to assist you with your condition, including:
Soft tissue massage techniques
Articulation – gentle rhythmic joint movements
Stretching muscles and joints
Visceral (organ) manipulation – gentle movement of the abdominal and pelvic areas
Taping techniques – including kinesiotape
Our osteopathic techniques include a gentle approach, suitable for all patients, from a newborn to an older adult, and for those with complex medical problems.
We encourage all of our patients to take responsibility for their health and wellbeing. We will explore lifestyle and environmental factors that may be contributing to your condition, including: poor posture, stress and workplace ergonomics.
Osteopathic treatment focuses on your whole body, including the soft tissues (such as muscles, ligaments and tendons), the spine, bones and joints. Attention is also given to related body systems – such as the circulatory, nervous and lymphatic systems. We recognise and embrace the unity between the structure of the body and the way it functions to assist in the healing process for our patients.
